Manchester City Look Unstoppable As They Dismantle Mourinho’s TottenhamManchester City are cruising with an unfathomable confidence at the moment as they defeat Tottenham 3-0 in Saturday evening kick-off game.

The Citizens (Manchester City) have now won 16 consecutive games in all competitions and equalled a record of nine consecutive topflight victory, only Bolton Wanderers in 1906 and Manchester United in 2009 have managed that record.

IIkay Gundogan was at the centre of it all, scoring a second half brace. It was the German’s 11th goal in 12 matches.

Today’s victory moved City seven points ahead of second placed Leicester at the top of the table, with a game in hand and 17 points clear of Spurs (Tottenham).

Jose Mourinho’s Spurs were defeated for the fourth time in five League matches and they are watching their Champions League hopes fade away. The Portuguese’s job maybe under threat if this terrible run persists.

The Citizens opened scoring in the 23rd minute from the penalty spot; Pierre- Emile Hojbjerg clipped Gundogan’s ankle in the penalty box, City’s goalkeeper Ederson waited for the greenlight to take the resulting penalty, only for Bernardo to eventually rush back to inform the disappointed goalkeeper that his service wouldn’t be needed. Rodrigo surprisingly stepped up to take the spot kick which bounced off the hands of Hugo Iloris.

Gundogan was a bit fortunate with City’s second goal in the 50th minute, Iloris should have kept out the midfielder’s effort which crept in off the underside of his right hand, it seemed that the French Goalkeeper was thrown away by the way the ball pinged inadvertently off Gundogan’s toes.

Ederson was at the centre of the third goal as he assisted Gundogan with a stunning 90 yard pass in the 66th minute, the German controlled the ball with a touch and beat Davidson Sanchez with another touch before hitting a ruthless left footed shot into the bottom corner of Illoris’s net from 30 yards out.

Jose Mourinho would be furious at his team’s defending all through the night as Manchester City look unbeatable at the moment.
