NCDC Confirms 1056 New COVID-19 Cases, 1120 Discharged And 21 DeathsNigeria Centre for Disease Control on Tuesday confirmed 1,056 new COVID-19 cases, 1,120 discharged patients and 21 more deaths.

Tuesday’s 1,056 new cases raised the total number of infections in the country to 141,447.

However, 21 more people also died from the disease in Nigeria on Monday raising the total fatality to 1,694.

In new toll, Lags State had the highest number of cases with 214 new infections while Osun came second with 120 and Abuja left far behind with 116 cases.

Nigeria’s daily COVID-19 infections have averaged over 1,000 since the beginning of this year, indicating how fast the disease has spread compared to when the country recorded its first case of the virus in February last year.

Of the over 141,000 cases recorded so far, a total of 115,755 patients have recovered across the country.

Meanwhile, there are almost 24,000 patients still receiving treatments in isolation centres.

Since the pandemic broke out in February last year, the country has carried out almost 1.4 million tests.
