Manchester United Loanee, Jesse Lingard scored twice on his West Ham dream debut as the Hammers (West Ham) cruised past Aston Villa in a 3-1 victory in the English Premier League (EPL) on Wednesday night, strengthening their top-six hopes.

Jesse Lingard was sent on loan to West Ham after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford. He has now made his mark at Villa Park. It was the 28-year-old first Premier League start in 13 months.

His joyful celebration, a knee-slide, showed just what the goal meant to him after all he’s been through in recent times. A joyous Lingard was mobbed by his teammates, with his compatriot, Declan rice sharing a tight embrace with him.

Ollie Watkins gave Villa a glimmer of hope, halving the deficit in the 81st minute by hitting his right footed shot beyond Lukasz Fabianski after a beautiful pass by Jack Grealish.

Lingard rounded off his superb debut, latching on to Antonio’s pass to restore his side’s two-goal advantage in the 83rd minute, two minutes after Ollie Watkins pulled one back for the host.

Coming into this fixture, Lingard hadn’t played a premier League match since the final day of last season, when his Parent Club, Manchester United played against Leicester City.

West Ham Manager, David Moyes put the midfielder into his starting line-up, and the England international showed his creativity from the off. No West-ham had more shots or touches in the final third in the opening period.

Villa defender, Tyronne Mings completed an excellent goal line clearance to deny Michail Antonio shortly after the hour mark.

Now, West Ham remain fifth on the table, two points behind fourth-placed Liverpool who lost 1-0 a home to Brighton, while Villa stay ninth, six points behind West Ham.
