Manchester City has set a new record with their 15th straight win in all competitions, a mark no other English top-flight side had previously managed by defeating Swansea 3-1 on Wednesday night.

City boss, Pep Guardiola made seven changes from the side that defeated Liverpool 4-1 on Sunday, he gave American Goalkeeper Zack Steffen a start between the sticks and an entirely different defensive unit.

He retained
Rodri, Bernardo Silva, IIkay Gundogan and Sterling from the victory at Anfield.

Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus all had their names on the scoresheet. Morgan Whittaker scored a consolation on goal for Swansea with 13 minutes left clock.

Swansea striker, Jordan Morris had chances to give the club the lead, but he couldn’t take his chances.

However, Swansea’s goalkeeper Freddie Woodman was their man of the match, stopping shots from Gundogan, Gabriel Jesus.

The deadlock was broken by City’s defender Kyle walker in the 30th minute, he swung a cross into the box, but neither Ferran Torres nor Jesus could ease the ball into the net, the ball evaded everyone and ended up in Woodman’s net.

Moving on, City conceded for the fifth time in fifteen game when Whittaker controlled Ryan Manning’s cross and fired past Steffen.

The last time both teams played at the quarter stage of the FA Cup two years ago, City came out 3-2 winners of that tie. Virtual Assistant Referee (VAR) was not in use in the game which made Aguero score a late winner despite replay indicating he was offside.

City surpassed the previous record of 14 games winning streak created by Preston team of 1891-1892 and Arsenal team in 1987-1988. The club have not lost since November and don’t look like losing anytime soon.
