Female Police Officer, Two Others Killed In Ekiti By-Election
Three people, including a female police officer, have been reportedly killed in violence that ensued during by-election at Ekiti East Constituency 1 in the State House of Assembly on Saturday, March 20.
The seat became vacant following the death of Juwa Adegbuyi who was representing the constituency in February.
Several vehicles were also vandalised in the violence at different polling units.
Biodun Olujimi, senator representing Ekiti South, was said to have escaped by whiskers as the thugs went on a rampage in her polling units in Omuo Ekiti.
According to TheCable, the deceased policewoman, who is a nursing mother, was killed when political thugs unleashed mayhem on voters and security agents on Saturday.
There are allegations that All Progressives Congress sponsored the thugs, who unleashed violence on voters and security personnel at different polling units.
Five other persons are reportedly receiving treatment from a private hospital as a result of the incidents.
