Four Nigerians Governors have on Wednesday, March 10 received their first doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine.
Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state via his Twitter page this afternoon announced that following the delivery of vaccines to the state, he received my first jab of the vaccine.
He revealed that he was vaccinated by State Incident Manager on COVID-19 and Chief Medical Director, Uniosun Teaching Hospital, Prof. Peter Olaitan.

He then encouraged all Osun citizens and residents, especially those prioritised by National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) to present themselves for the exercise.
Oyeyola also urged everyone to keep complying with all the COVID-19 protocols in order to ensure safety.

Shortly after, Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai announced that himself and his deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe took their first shots of the vaccine.

Also, Niger state Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello flagged-off COVID-19 vaccination in the state by getting his own shot, as the first citizen of the state.

In addition, Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru, and his deputy, Muhammad Namadi, today also publicly took the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
They received the vaccination on camera at the Government House Clinic in Dutse, the state capital.
Speaking at the event, Mr Badaru said the state received 68,520 doses of the vaccine from the federal government, but said the number only represents one per cent of the population of the state.
The governor expressed that traditional and religious leaders as well as health workers would be the first category to be vaccinated in the first phase of the exercise in the state.
Mr Badaru said security personnel and other key stakeholders would also be vaccinated in the first phase, alongside people with underlying medical conditions.
Ogun state Governor, Dapo Abiodun was the first Governor to get vaccinated after receiving 50,000 doses of the vaccine on Monday.
