‘He Is Competent’ – Nigerians Dismiss Calls For Replacement Of BBNaija Host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu With Frank Edoho Or Nancy Isime
Nigerians on social media have dismissed calls for the replacement of BBNaija host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu with other media personalities like Frank Edoho or Nancy Isime.
Frank Edoho hosted the defunct game show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM) for 13 years while Nancy Isime, who is an actress, runs her personal TV show – The Nancy Isime show.
The calls for replacement comes few days after organisers of the show, MultiChoice Nigeria announced that the season 6 edition of the show is set to begin this year, calling on Nigerians to audition.

Following this, some Twitter users suggested that the organisers of the show should consider another person as the host for the show, other than Ebuka, who has been hosting it since 2017 (Season 2).
Ebuka, who himself participated in the first edition which held in 2006, has over the years been praised for his impressive presenting skills.
However, after the announcement by Multichoice Nigeria, some Twitter users especially women began advocating that a woman should also be used as the show host.
Why can’t a woman host BBN? Why can’t BBN have 2 hosts? There are no rules anywhere. Also, nobody is taking anybody’s job. If BBN replaces Ebuka it’s because he’s moved on to other things or they decided they wanted someone else, not because someone tweeted it 🙄

Some ladies suggested that he should be replaced with sensational actress, model and media personality Nansy Isime.
Nancy recently co-hosted 14th Headies Award alongside comedian Bovi in January, 2021; making her the first female to host the prestigious event for the second time.
With her growing profile and successes, some female folks on Twitter began rooting for her to either replace or co-host with Ebuka.
Some of other Twitter users also suggested Edoho as Ebuka’s replacement, citing his 13-year stint as host of popularl game show, WWTBAM.
A Twitter user stated;
Ebuka don eat small, make him allow another person chop! Frank Edoho as BBNaija host for this season won’t be a bad choice.

Reacting to the numerous suggestion, Edoho wondered what Ebuka had done to deserve such suggestion.
The ace broadcaster said it was unfortunate that people would call for the replacement of the media personality who has hosted the show successfully for about three years.
What did Ebuka do to deserve all this? Why would you want to change someone that has done a show successfully for only 3 years and have him replaced with one who did WWTBAM for 13 years?
Leave Ebuka alone! Please. https://t.co/ZtdLttZNxz— Frank Edoho (@frankedoho) March 26, 2021
No. No. No. That’s not what I meant. If I could do mine for 13 years, why shouldn’t Ebuka? https://t.co/wOGflB5m9u

In another post, the ace broadcaster said fans should expect him on television soon but not as BBNaija host, saying; “I will be back on TV soon. But absolutely not on Big Brother”.
I’ll be back on TV soon. ❤️
But absolutely not on Big Brother. https://t.co/jhLYX1iVIC— Frank Edoho (@frankedoho) March 26, 2021
Also supporting his statement, some Twitter users expressed that the regular host has showcased his competence over the years a s shouldn’t be replaced over gender role.
See more reactions dismissing the calls for replacement below:
You want Ebuka out and Nancy Isime or Frank Edoho in. Why? You said “someone else deserve a shot at the job too”
Well, someone else deserve a shot at your own job too and I feel you should be fired. ✌️

Ebuka is doing excellently well as the BBnaija host.
Why are you lot clamoring to have him replaced ?

I see people going after Ebuka’s job, inserting the gender card.
Imagine how it will look to go after a woman’s job like Nancy Isime using the same card.
Not everything has to be gender governed.
Stop tweeting like u were dropped on ur head as a kid.

Nancy Isime should focus on her #headies and Hiptv hosting .
Y’all should leave Ebuka alone to eat the fruits of his labour.I doubt if anyone of you cares about the sacrifices he’s made to be where he is on that #BBNaija show today .— King Creator 🦁 (@Kingcreatorr) March 26, 2021
We need to create Ebuka fanbase with this new season and reunion that is about to start.
You drag Ebuka anyhow, you must collect

And look at the excuses they are making for Ebuka to be replaced despite doing a superb job as the anchor of the BBN show.
“make another person sef chop”
Is that talk? Does it make any sense? See, some folks are preposterously dull.

This Ebuka topic. Most of you are witches and wizards. It’s not until you suck blood before you can recognize as one.

You want Ebuka to stop being the host of the show he hosted for years because YOU THINK HIS BELLY SHOULD BE FULL BY NOW?

Ebuka is good at what he does. I don’t see any reason why there’s an outcry for his replacement. The only person in your country that doesn’t deserve his job is your president.
