Okonjo-Iweala Visits President Buhari In Aso Rock
Director General of World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has arrived the State House, Abuja for a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The WTO Chief Executive Officer, who assumed office on March 1, 2021, is visiting Nigeria for the first time since she took office in Geneva, Switzerland.
Apart from meeting with the President during her one-week work visit, Okonjo-Iweala is to hold talks with Presidential Task force on COVID-19, the Central Bank Governor and captains of industry, during her stay.

The WTO DG arrived at the Presidential Villa at about 2:45 pm and was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo as well as Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Ambassador Maryam Katagum.
Also on the delegation are some officials of the World Trade Organisation.

Okonjo-Iweala, who once served as the country’s Minister of Finance and Supervising Minister of the Economy, was received by the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.
Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmed, in a tweet quoted her as saying she was in the state house to thank the President for nominating and supporting for her for the WTO role.

She is expected to later address the media after her meeting with the President.
