Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Reveal How Tyler Perry Came To Their Rescue After They Were Cut Off From Royal Support (Photos)

Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle have revealed how billionaire filmmaker Tyler Perry played an instrumental part in helping them move to America.

Following their decision to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family, they were left without security or a plan on how to proceed with their lives.

During that period, Page Six reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lived in a sprawling, ultra-luxe, $18 million Beverly Hills mansion owned by Hollywood mogul Tyler Perry.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their 1-year-old son, Archie, reportedly set up home in Perry’s hilltop eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom, Tuscan-style villa in the swanky gated Beverly Ridge Estates.

Confirming the report, the couple reflected on Perry’s generosity during their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired for the first time on Sunday.

While speaking with Winfrey about their subsequent move to Canada, and then to the United States, where they eventually settled down in California, the couple revealed that Perry, offered them use of one of his homes and his security detail.

According to Prince Harry, Perry offered after he and Meghan learned while they were in Canada that their security was going to be removed.

Additionally, the Duke of Sussex revealed that the decision was made by the royal family despite being no change to the couple’s risk or threat.

“While we were in Canada, in someone else’s house, I then got told, short notice, that security was going to be removed,” he recalled, adding that, because of the media, his and his wife’s exact location was known.

Prince Harry stressed;

So suddenly it dawned on me: ‘Hang on, the borders could be closed, we’re going to have our security removed, who knows how long lockdown is going to be, the world knows where we are, it’s not safe, it’s not secure, we probably need to get out of here.

At that point, Meghan, who is expecting her second child, told Winfrey they didn’t have a plan and “needed a house” – at which point Perry stepped in.

Meghan told Winfrey of the couple’s first months in California, saying;

We didn’t have a plan and we needed a house and he offered security as well so it gave us breathing room to try to figure out what we were going to do.

On social media, the actor, producer and screenwriter’s generosity has been met with praise, with many applauding Perry for offering to help the couple during their moment of vulnerability.
