OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY SODIQ ABUBAKAR YUSUF RE: ALLEGATIONS AND PURPORTED ON-GOING INVESTIGATION IN THE NATIONAL DRUG LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY CASE

Given the recent allegations made against me bothering on possession of drugs and other relat ed matters, I wish to state in very clear terms that I have never been in possession of any illegal substance in whatsoever form, neither have I ever had any cause to process, traffic, sell or use any illegal substance.

I am not unmindful of the fact that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is statutorily empowered to enforce laws against the general utilization of prohibited drugs and that their activities should be done within the ambit of the law, however my experience with the officers of the NDLEA on the 14th day of April, 2021 right from the moment I was purportedly arrested from my house to the point and manner with which my statements were taken proved otherwise.

That said, it is imperative to mention that I have instructed my legal Counsel to ensure that the allegation/matter in its entirety, inclusive of the defamatory statements by several persons, is followed to a logical end. Even though I reserve the right to respond to the various falsehoods against me as published on several blogs, news site, etc. that I was arrested with a cannabis variant, I urge the entire public to please note that I was not found with any form/variant of any illegal substance on the day I was purportedly arrested at my lekki residence, there are no conclusive reports by the NDLEA on any wrongdoing, neither have been convicted by any court of competent jurisdiction concerning the foregoing.

Again, I do not engage myself with any illegal substance for any reason(s) whatsoever. I am committed to doing my very best as a professional recording Artiste and ensuring that I am a law-abiding citizen of this Country.
