Two Security Operatives Killed As Gunmen Raze Gov Uzodinma’s Home In Imo (Video)

Army/ESN: Imo Gov, Hope Uzodinma Imposes Dusk-To-Dawn Curfew In Orlu, 9 Other LGAsGunmen have in the early hours of Saturday attacked the home of Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodinma, killing two security operatives.

According to ThePunch, the gunmen invaded the governor’s house in Omuma in Oru Local Government Area, burning a part of the house and vehicles parked in the compound.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, confirmed the incident, saying;

It is true but the information is not still clear. It is not true that several security men lost their lives. About two security men on duty at the governor’s house were killed. NSCDC personnel was among the security men who lost their lives during the attack.

There have been a spike in attacks targeting security agencies, public infrastructure and individuals in Imo state.

A few weeks ago, gunmen razed the police command headquarters in the state and attacked the prison facility, setting free over 1,800 inmates.
