You Can’t Be First Lady – Nigerians Slam Remi Tinubu After Tackling Smart Adeyemi For Lamenting About Spike In Insecurity
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of All Progressive Congress (APC) national leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has come under heavy censure for tackling Senator Smart Adeyemi for lamenting about the increasing rate of insecurity in the country.
Many Nigerians via social media lambasted Remi, senator representing Lagos Central District, for allegedly making a defence for insecurity by tackling Smart Adeyemi, her All Progressives Congress’ colleague from Kogi West.
It would be recalled that Nigeria’s troubles with crime was the major focus of Senate plenary on Tuesday, April 27, after Senator Sani Musa raised a motion on the activities of bandits and Boko Haram terrorists in Shiroro and Rafi Local Government Areas of Niger State.
While contributing to Tuesday’s motion, Senator Adeyemi described the widespread criminal activities in Nigeria as the worst instability the nation has ever faced, adding; “In fact this is worse than the civil war”.
He was however interrupted by Senator Tinubu, sitting close him, who seemed to suggest that only a member of the opposition should be direct about the state of the nation.
“Are you in PDP? Are you a wolf in sheep’s clothing?” wife of the former Lagos governor asked Adeyemi who simply ignored her interruption and continued with his speech.
The two lawmakers are members of All Progressives Congress (APC), but Adeyemi has also been a member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the past.
Remi’s comment have since attracted outrage on social media as many Nigerians accuse her of being desperate and more interested in the presidential ambition of her husband at the expense of human lives.
