Samuel Ajibola Quits His Role As ‘Spiff’ In The Johnsons TV SeriesNollywood actor and comedian, Samuel Ajibola, popularly known as “Spiff” in Africa Magic’s “The Johnsons” family series has announced that will no longer be playing the role.

He explained that he has spent almost 10 years of his life acting the character “Spiff” on the TV series as he joined the show in 2013.

The actor made this known while speaking in a video posted to his Instagram account on Friday, saying;

For about 10 years now, I have sacrificed my time, dedicated my life as well as all of the God-given creativity within me to serving the Spiff character on The Johnsons television series which undoubtedly for me has fulfilled its purpose.

But as we all know nothing lasts forever and everything that has a beginning definitely has an ending and as tough as this decision has been for me to make in the past few years, the time has finally come for me to move on.

The actor said he is now in search of new challenges and other ways to provide entertainment for audiences.

Ajibola expressed his gratitude to the producers of the show for the opportunity given to him and affirmed his loyalty to Multichoice as he explained that he is not quitting acting but just his role in TV series, The Johnsons.

The comedian added;

I would like to thank the producers of the show for allowing me to showcase one of many sides of my limitless creative talents.

Most importantly I would like to state that my loyalty belongs to Multichoice. What this means, in general, is that I have not quit acting. It only means I am making more time to be able to fulfill other purposes.

Ajibola began acting at the age of six when he got his first role in Opa Williams directed movie ‘Tears for Love’.

He has also featured in several Nigerian box office movies including Last Flight to Abuja with Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, The Antique alongside Kiki Omeili, Judith Audu and Gloria Young.  He also starred in the 2018 movie Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons.

Ajibola is also famous for being the first Nigerian child actor to win the award for Best Kid Actor for three years in a row at Rhema Awards.

In 2014, he won the award for Best Actor at the In-Short Movie Awards. In March 2017, Ajibola won the Best Actor in a Comedy Award at the 2017 AMVCA Awards. He then also won Comic Actor of the Year Award at 2017 City People Awards in October, 2017.
