First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, on Sunday paid condolence visit to family of late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, who died in a plane crash on Friday in Kaduna state.
Mrs Buhari offered her condolences when she led members of the immediate first family, friends and well wishers to the residence of the deceased Army Chief.

She joined other Nigerians to mourn Attahiru and 10 other officers who died in the Friday’s plane crash.
Aisha confirmed this in a statement she released on Sunday evening alongside photos of her visit shared across her social media pages.
She described the death of Ibrahim Attahiru and other military officers aboard the ill-fated aircraft as a monumental loss to Nigeria.

Aisha expressed;
I paid a condolence visit to the Family of the Late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru. The death of the Late Chief Of Army Staff and the other military officers aboard the ill-fated aircraft is a monumental loss to their families and the Nation at large.
May their souls rest in peace, and may the Almighty grant their families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

In an emotional laden mood, Mrs Buhari said the deceased and his colleagues died as heroes and would forever remain in her mind and the minds of Nigerians.
She also commended their contribution so far in the fight against insurgency in the country.
The late Chief of Army Staff died alongside his colleagues, Brig.-Gen. M.I Abdulkadir, Brig.-Gen. Olayinka, Brig.-Gen. Kukiya, Maj. L.A Hayat, Maj. Hamza, Sgt. Umar.
Others are Flight Lt T.O ASANIYI, Flight Lt. A.A Olufade, Sgt. Adesina and ACM Oyedepo.
Her visit occurred as Nigerians continued to express outrage over President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to attend the burial of the late officers or visit their family for condolences.

Attahiru, a lieutenant general, and 10 other officers were laid to rest at National Military Cemetery, Abuja, on Saturday, a day after they died in a military plane crash.
The burial was attended by the families and friends of the deceased and top government officials. Buhari was, however, conspicuously absent. No official reason has been given for the president’s absence.
