Breaking: Buhari Directs Flags To Fly At Half-Mast For 3 Days In Honour Of Kaduna Plane Crash Victims
President Muhammadu Buhari has on Sunday, May 23 ordered flags to be flown at half-mast in honour of Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, the chief of army staff, and 10 other officers who died in the Kaduna air crash.
Attahiru and the other officers died in a plane crash on Friday in Kaduna state while on official assignment to Zaria in Kaduna State.
They were travelling to Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria for the passing out parade of regular recruits slated for Saturday.

The names of the other officers include Brigadier-General MI Abdulkadir, Brigadier-General Olayinka, Brigadier-General Kuliya, Major LA Hayat, Major Hamza and Sergeant Umar.
Others are Flight-Lieutenant TO Asaniyi, Flight-Lieutenant AA Olufade, Sergeant Adesina and ACM Oyedepo.

In a statement on Sunday by Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation, the directive on the flags is to be carried out in all public buildings and official residences from Monday till Wednesday.
Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad quoted Mustapha as saying this in a tweet today, saying;

President Buhari as Commander-in-Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces has also approved Monday as work-free day for military personnel in the country.
