Breaking: President Buhari Expresses Sadness Over Death Of Lt. Gen Attahiru, Others
President Muhammadu Buhari has on Friday evening expressed sadness over the death of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other military officers.
MDB earlier reported that Attahiru with at least 8 others were involved in a plane crash at Kaduna state international airport.

The military aircraft was carrying the Chief of Army Staff and other military personnel, with reports suggesting there was no survivor in the crash.
The aircraft reportedly crashed at the runway of Kaduna international airport at about 6 pm while it was raining heavily with about 12 people on board feared dead.
The country’s Air Force in a tweet confirmed that there was an accident involving one of its aircraft in Kaduna but did not go into details about the victims.

Official spokesman of the President, Garba Shehu made this known in a statement via his Twitter page, saying;

The President also condoled with families of the deceased, the military, and Nigerians in general, describing them as “heroes who paid the ultimate price for peace and security in the land.”

Shehu quoted the President as saying, while praying that God receives the souls of the patriots, the President says the crash “is one mortal blow to our underbelly, at a time our armed forces are poised to end the security challenges facing the country.”

It was gathered that the along with the COAS, Lt Gen I Attahiru, others in his entourage were: Brig Gen M. I Abdukadir; Brig Gen Olayinka; Brig Gen Kuliya; Maj Lawal Hayat; Maj Hamza; Sgt Umar.
The crew members were: Flt Lt To Asaniyi; Flt Lt A. A Olufade; Sgt Adesina; ACM Oyedepo.
