Singer, Chidinma Ekile Quits Secular Music For Gospel, Drops Debut SinglePopular singer and songwriter, Chidinma Ekile has quit secular music in a bid to focus on propagating the kingdom of God with gospel songs.

Chidinma rose to the spotlight some years ago when she won season 3 of defunct MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2010. Following this, she  released hit songs like “Kedike”, “Jakoliko”, “Emi Ni Baller” and also three albums, winning her some notable awards within 10 years of her career. 

However, after some years, Chidinma took a break from the music industry and the public eye. Unknown to many, she was undergoing a period of actively waiting on God and preparation for what is ahead.

In latest development, Chidinma in celebration of her 30th birthday today, May 2, gave fans a piece of shocking news via her official Instagram account.

The beautiful lady deleted all her previous posts and revamped her page in a way that suits the new genre of music she’s switching to.

According to Chidimma, she’s going to become a crusader of the Gospel Of Jesus Christ and unveiled her new stage name is Minister Chidinma Ekile.

The crossover for Chidinma is not far-fetched, as she has always had a pivotal role in the Church music ministry. She has been in the Church Choir from a young age and has been serving as a music director for many years now.

Also in marking her special day, her new record label, EeZee Global Ministry released Minister Chidinma’s first single titled “Jehovah Overdo”, a mellow groovy song of praise that testifies to God’s monumental works in our lives.
