‘Friends’ Star, Matthew Perry And Fiancée Split After Seven Months Of Engagement
“Friends” star, Matthew Perry has split from fiancée Molly Hurwitz, just seven months after they got engaged.
“Sometimes things just don’t work out, and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best,” 51-year-old Perry, who played ‘Chandler Bing’ on the hit sitcom, told People on Tuesday.
The announcement came just days after “Friends” reunion show aired on HBO Max, during which some viewers noted that Perry hardly spoke.
Ben Winston, director of the special, sprang to the defense of the actor, who has openly shared his struggles with substance abuse.
“He was great,” Winston told The Hollywood Reporter.
Perry confirmed his engagement to Hurwitz, a 29-year-old literary manager, in November. They reportedly began dating in 2018.
“I decided to get engaged,” Perry told People at the time. “Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.” However, now Perry has confirmed the break-up.
Matthew Perry has been in relationships with many women before. The Friends star was in a brief relationship with Baywatch actress Yasmine Bleeth in 1995. He dated actress Julia Roberts from 1995 to 1996 and later Lizzy Caplan from 2006 to 2012.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated Friends: The Reunion began streaming online from May 27.
The reunion special episode features the six Friends stars – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, who are seen revisiting the good old days. The Friends cast reunited 17 years after the final episode aired in 2004 in the same studio.
