Muhammad Ahmad, lawmaker representing Shinkafi constituency in Zamfara house of assembly, has been killed by gunmen.
Hon. Ahmad was killed on Tuesday night on his way to Kano after attending a rally to welcome Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State and members of the State House of Assembly to ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was gathered that the lawmaker was killed by the gunmen along Sheme-Funtua Road in Katsina State.
Director-General of Media and Publicity in the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Mustapha Jafaru confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He noted that the late lawmaker will be buried on Wednesday morning in line with Islamic tradition.
Governor Matawalle left Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with all elected officials in the state except his deputy, Mahdi Aliyu, and a state lawmaker.
Early in the month, more than 90 persons were reportedly killed when gunmen attacked Kadawa village in Zurmi LGA of the state.
The bandits, who reportedly spoke in foreign languages, were said to have shot at anyone who tried to escape during the attack.
Reacting to the incessant attacks in the state, Bello Matawalle, the governor, lamented that the insecurity situation in Zamfara was getting worse.
Matawalle said despite efforts to curtail the menace, banditry had reverted to how it used to be before his administration.
He vowed that the criminals and their sponsors will not be spared no matter how highly placed they are in society.
In 2019, the state government entered a peace agreement with the gunmen. About 15 brand new Hilux vehicles and cash gifts were also given to leaders of different ‘repentant‘ gangs of bandits by the governor in 2020.
However, despite all these, communities in the state are still being attacked and residents kidnapped and/or killed.
