Notorious Native Doctor Who Allegedly Prepares Charms For IPOB/ESN Members Arrested In Imo

Police command in Imo state says its officers have arrested Uzoamaka Ugoanyanwu, a 40-year-old notorious native doctor working with Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and the group’s security outfit – Eastern Security Network (ESN).

According to the police, Ugoanyanwu is a notorious witch doctor who prepared charms for IPOB and ESN members.

In Imo, Abutu Yaro, the Commissioner of Police, confirmed the arrest in a statement signed by the command’s spokesman, Bala Elkana.

Elkana said tactical teams of the command through diligent and painstaking investigations, stormed Ukwuorji, Mbaitoli Local Government area, along Onitsha road, and arrested a 65-year-old man, Ezeugo Ordu, a native of Ubachima, Omuma, Oru West LGA.

On his part, Yaro expressed that the police also arrested nine individuals suspected to have taken part in the attack on the country home of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

He expressed that Ezeugo during interrogation confessed to being a member of IPOB/ESN, and made useful statements to the Police as regards to the recent attacks on Police stations.

The police spokesperson said Ezeugo further led operatives of the command to IPOB/ESN camp, a Bush close to Njaba River where nine persons were arrested at the criminal hideout while planning another attack. He expressed that assorted charms were recovered from them.

The spokesperson said two out of the nine suspects arrested in the hideout, Chinedu Nwakaire aka One door, 48, and the native doctor were identified to be part of the hoodlums that attacked the private residence of Gov. Hope Uzodinma and also some Police stations.

He said they confessed to the crime, and also stated their roles during the operations.

Elkana added that the state Commissioner of Police used the opportunity to reiterate the call on members of IPOB/ESN, or any other criminal syndicate operating in the state especially those who stole Police arms and ammunitions to voluntarily surrender themselves to enable them to get “soft landing“, or they will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

With the support of the military, the police foiled a deadly attack on police headquarters on Sunday and killed five ESN members.

They also invaded the ESN camp on Monday in the Ikeduru council area, dislodged the camp, and rescued a female police officer held captive.
