National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has on Wednesday reportedly returned to Nigeria after a brief holiday abroad.
The new development is in contrary to rumours that circulated earlier today on social media claiming that the APC leader had died after being hospitalised for a undisclosed illness. Some claimed he died in Dubai while others alleged it was in France.
Rumours of his death might have been fuelled by the domestic accident he reportedly had in his bathroom two weeks ago.
He was said to have fallen on his two kneels and sustained injuries, which necessitated his travelling to Dubai for medical attention.
However, shortly before his arrival in Nigeria, founder of Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Movement, Otunba Abiodun Ajiboye debunked the rumour, CityPeople reports.
In a statement signed by him, Ajiboye insisted the APC stalwart is in indeed in good condition and would return to the country very soon.
According to him;
Looking through the story, you can see that the story is not professionally written, the story refused to disclose the precise time he was flown out and nature of ailment, the story refused to state the surrounding circumstances and lastly , they do not even know the name of the hospital he has been flown to. All this simply attest to the fact that it is not a credible story, but rumour to fill the media space.
He added;
For avoidance of doubt, Asiwaju has registered hospital he attends in London and his regular doctors who have his medical history . So, the question of undisclosed location is just to lay further credence to the fact that the report is fake news.
By and large, it is not uncommon for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at 69 to go for regular medical check up, i hereby implore all and sundry to disregard the news flying around about his state of health, he is hale and hearty. Asiwaju is due back today, as I speak, he is due back very shortly.
Few hours after the statement, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu arriving in Nigeria surfaced online with the 69-year-old man looking hale and hearty.
