Three children in Badarawa community, Kaduna North Local Government Area have sustained varying degrees of injuries following an explosion in the area.
According to DailyTrust, the incident occurred on Saturday evening when the children were playing with an object.
Although details of the incident were still sketchy as at press time, a witness said two hands of one of them have reportedly been ripped off, explaining;
It is terrible because one of them had his two hands ripped off, with one of his eyes affected while the other victims sustained serious injuries. The other one is a bit stable. They said someone gave them a bobo container to play with it.
The witness said the victims are being treated at the Barau Dikko Hospital in Kaduna.
Meanwhile, State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Jalige Mohammed, confirmed the incident but said it’s not yet clear what the object is.
According to him, anti-bomb squad personnel from the command have been deployed to the area.
“We are waiting for their report but the victims are in critical condition” he said.
The PPRO confirmed that he is currently in the hospital where the victims are receiving treatment, saying the command had deployed personnel to the area to ascertain the “cause of the unfortunate explosion”.
He stated;
I am currently in the hospital to see the victims of the explosion. The command has also deployed personnel and some experts to the area to know the actual cause of the unfortunate incident. We will keep you posted.
