Two Killed As Gunmen Attack Sunday Igboho’s Ibadan Residence AgainUnknown gunmen have once again attacked the residence of Yoruba secessionist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho in Soka, Ibadan in the early hours of July 1, his spokesman said.

According to the media aide of the agitator, Olayomi Koiki, the gunmen adorning military uniforms carried out the attack at about 1am.

Igboho was however not in his residence at the time of the attack.

Koiki said during the attack, Igboho’s G-wagon, Prado SUV, some valuable properties including furniture, and windows were destroyed.

He said bullet holes were found in cars parked in the premises while bloodstains were seen at the premises.

It was also alleged that some persons in the house including a close ally of Igboho identified as ‘Lady K’, were whisked away.

As at the time of filing this report, the state police command was yet to comment on this incident.

The overnight attack came as Igboho was preparing a major rally of separatist agitators scheduled to hold in Lagos on Saturday.

Igboho did not appear to be at home when the attack occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. He was on a trip to Germany earlier this month, The Gazette reports.

His campaign has been at odds with Nigerian security forces. His residence in Ibadan had on 3 different occasions been attacked by gunmen including his mother’s house as he continued trouble hold rallies to demand Yoruba’s exit from Nigeria.

Security forces, including operatives of the State Security Service, have clashed with Igboho’s private security team during attempts to arrest him.

Nnamdi Kanu, who has been leading a similar campaign to lead Igbos out of Nigeria, was arrested and extradited to Nigeria under yet-unclear circumstances last weekend.
