Again, Bandits Abduct Students In Zamfara school, Kill Security OfficialsGunmen have abducted students and teachers at College of Agriculture and Animal Health in Bakura, Zamfara State in northwestern Nigeria.

The college registrar, Aliyu Bakura, confirmed the incident to BBC Hausa on Monday morning, saying four persons, including a police officer and three gatemen, were killed in the attack.

He said;

Last Sunday night around 10pm they entered and opened fire and took away 15 students and a teacher and his wife and two children.

Mallam Aliyu added that the attackers were very numerous and climbed the wall and spent more than two hours in the school firing.

Also, State’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammed Shehu confirmed the unfortunate incident but was unable to give details of the attack stating that the command would “issue statement later”.

Meanwhile, Senator Shehu Sani who represented the Kaduna Central during the 8th National Assembly also confirmed the incident via a tweet in his verified Twitter handle on Monday morning.

The tweet reads;

We woke up with a tragic news of mass abductions of students and staff at the college of Agriculture Bakura, Zamfara State yesternight.

The bandits also killed some security personnel. Another tragedy. Budget upon Budget for defence, where are our security apparatuses?

The latest incident comes few months after Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Matawalle back in March announced the released of over 300 female students of Girls Secondary School, Jangebe kidnapped in February.
