Breaking: EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa Slumps While Delivering Speech In Abuja
Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has on Thursday reportedly collapsed while delivering a speech at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to Daily Trust, Bawa was giving a goodwill message at National Identity Day celebration when he suddenly stopped speaking at the Banquet Hall Villa.
The 41-year-old was later assisted to his seat by Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami, and other senior officials at the event and was rushed out.
Before the incident, Bawa was speaking about a man who was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, with 116 SIM cards.
Recall that Bawa was nominated as the substantive Chairman of EFCC on February 16, 2021, and on February 24, 2021, he was confirmed by National Assembly as the Executive Chairman.

He officially took over from the Mr Ibrahim Magu, the former acting Chairman of the Commission who is facing corruption charges.
