‘I’m Sorry, My Intentions Were Pure’ – Comedian, Taaooma Apologises Over Visit To VP Osinbajo

Instagram comedian and skit maker, Apaokagi Maryam popularly known as Taaooma has revealed that her visit to the Vice President of the country, Yemi Osinbajo had no ulterior motives.

The comedian made this known via her Twitter page on Friday, November 5, 2021, saying; “Hey guys, I’m apologising once again. I had clear intentions and nothing more”.

A team of skit makers had on Wednesday paid a visit to the VP at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The delegation, which came under the aegis of Nigeria Skits Industry Awards, was led by its promoter, Bimbo Daramola.

Others on the delegation were Maryam Apaokagi, popularly known as Taaooma, Josh Alfred (Josh2funny), Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba), Adebamiro Adeyanju (Mr Hyenana) and Adeoye Adeyemi Elesho (Yemi Elesho).

However, some fans criticised the comedians for visiting a representative of the FG despite the inadequacies of the administration, while others questioned Macaroni’s absence.

Taaooma’s apology came hours after she was called out on social media for accompanying some of her colleagues to the visit the VP.

She had shared some of the details of what happened during her trip to the statehouse.

That, however, did not sit well with many people online as she was dragged for visiting the VP for her personal interest.

Electronic devices were collected. I couldn’t even go live or record videos. All I did was do what others didn’t want to. And trust me, the VP himself was shocked when I started speaking about those issues as that wasn’t his expectations.

I’m really sorry if I have offended anyone by going that way, but I achieved my aim. I said all I could straight to the VP. The VP’s media team were in charge of photos and videos, I might have fully declined if I knew that I won’t be able to go in with my camera or phone.
