LISTEN: Fireboy DML Enlists Ed Sheeran For ‘Peru’ Remix
Highly anticipated remix for Fireboy’s hit single, ‘Peru’, featuring Grammy award winner, Ed Sheeran, has finally been released on Friday, December 24.
Fireboy had put out the original version of the hit single back in July. The single had attracted global attention and also enjoyed massive airplay.
Last week, the 30-year-old English songwriter had opened up about his collaboration with the Afrobeats superstar for the remix of the song.
Ed Sherran said;
I got sent this a week ago. A friend of mine Jamal, who runs SBTV, sent it to me. He said Fireboy DML would love you on the remix of this song.
It’s a song that’s blowing up in Nigeria and Ghana at the moment, and their club scene runs every Christmas. So, you basically put a song to the club in the middle of December, which would seem a weird thing to do in England.
“I’ve done the remix to this song but this is the original and it’s an earworm, it’s addictive and I’m obsessed with it. Cherry will tell you, I’ve had this song on repeat constantly in the house for the last week.”

On Friday morning, Fireboy announced the release of the song via his social media pages.
The singer in a press release said;
It has been a dream knowing Ed Sheeran is a fan of my sound and having him jump on a song that was inspired by me traveling the world.
Not only is this an exciting moment for me, but also for Afrobeats. I hope this is the first of many collaborations with Ed and other artists around the globe, and I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy this song during the holidays.
The song would be Fireboy’s first huge international collaboration.
