Angry Youths Set Late Hanifa’s School On FireSome angry youths have set ablaze Noble Kids School, Warshu Hospital Road, in Kawaji, Kano State, over the abduction and dismembering of a five-year-old pupil, Hanifa Abubakar.

Hanifa, the five-year-old pupil who was abducted and killed by her proprietor, was a student of the school.

Back in December, the young girl and some other persons were coming back from an Islamic class when a tricycle offered to give them a ride home.

However, while others had alighted from the tricycle, the driver had asked Hanifa to stay behind so that he could further give her a lift to her compound.

Instead of taking Hanifa to her house, the driver rather whisked her away to an undisclosed location and thereafter demanded N6million ransom.

While trying to get part of the ransom, Tanko was nabbed by security forces and he confessed that he killed the girl because she recognized him.

In the interview he granted when he was paraded at the headquarters of Kano Police Command, Tanko had said he rented the building where he used for the school.

He had said there were two branches of the school and that he buried her in one branch.

There has since been widespread outrage over the killing, with #JusticeForHanifa trending on social media for days.

Commending the detectives who nabbed Tanko, President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor of Kano, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje assured Nigerians that justice will be served.
