Davido Fulfils Promise, Disburses N250m Birthday Gift To 292 Orphanages Across Nigeria
Award-winning music star, Davido has successful disbursed his N250m birthday gift to 292 orphanages across the country, as promised.
Recall that on the 17th of November 2021, Davido asked friends around him to prove their love for him by sending him N1 million each.
Speaking via his Instastory channel, Davido explained that most of his life he has lived by his words of lifting those around him up and supporting them in his own way.
Davido, however, stated that it is also time for people to come through for him and extend the same kindness and generosity to him.

He later jokingly revealed that he needed N100 million to clear his Rolls Royce car from the seaport just in time for his 29th birthday.
Davido tagged many of his friends on social media, jokingly asking them for money, which many of them responded to, according to screenshots of bank alerts the singer shared.
In other to show how serious he was, the music star via his Twitter and Instagram page shared his bank account details and in 10 minutes he received N7 million.

Within 3 hours, Davido received over N70 million from fans and other celebrities like member of the House of Representatives, representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Akin Alabi; businessman and socialite, Emeka Okonkwo, aka E-money and Tunde Ednut.
Seyi Tinubu, Chief Priest, Femi Otedola, Obi Cubana, Mr Eazi Focalistic, Teni the Entertainer, Toke Makinwa, Peruzzi, Zlatan, Chike, Adekunle Gold, Perruzi and Ikorodu Bois are also amongst those who sent him money.

After exceeding his N100m goal, Davido increased the goal to N200m which he also achieved in 3 days.
Following this, the singer added N50 million and declared that the funds would be used to support orphans.
He then set up a 5-man committee for the disbursement of the fund and called on fellow musicians and other celebrities to join him as he intends to make the initiative a yearly birthday celebration.

Giving an update via in a statement released via his Twitter page on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, the music star revealed that the funds have been successfully disbursed through the help of the committee.
The statement reads;
As a follow up to the press statement I released on 19th November 2021 where I announced my intention of donating the total sum of N200 million received from my friends and family, together with my personal donation of N50 million, to orphanages across Nigeria, I bring you an update.
As promised, a five-man disbursement committee was set up. Since its inauguration, the members of this committee have worked tirelessly to ensure that they collate the names and information of documented and verified orphanages. I am pleased to announce that the disbursement of funds is complete.
So far, the total of N250,000,000 has been disbursed to 292 orphanages.
He stressed;
As promised in my first statement, I have listed/attached the names and amounts disbursed to the various orphanages. In the spirit of transparency, I thought it wise to give you my loyal supporters, fans, friends and family an update in this regard.
I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that made this possible, the committee of high caliber and principled people who dedicated their time to ensuring this task was expeditiously carried out, my wonderful family, friends and well wishers.
