American Olympic gymnast, Simone Biles, has on Tuesday announced her engagement to American football star, Jonathan Owens less than 2 years after they met on social media.
Biles, 24, announced the happy news on Instagram this morning, sharing several photos of the moment Owens, 26, got down on one knee to pop the question on Valentine’s Day.
The gymnast wrote;
The easiest Yes.I can’t wait to spend forever and ever with you. You’re everything I dreamed of and more! Let’s get married, fiance.

Sharing the same pictures from the engagement, Owens hinted that he engaged the gymnast with a ring on Valentine’s night.
A closeup and a video spotlight Biles’ new diamond ring, which features an enormous oval-cut diamond on a band inlaid with more diamonds.
Jeweler ZoFrost told DailyMail that he spent months working with Owens on the ring, which features a three-carat oval stone.
In his caption, the athlete appreciated his friends for organising the proposal.
Owen wrote;
I woke up this morning with a fiancée. I appreciate my dawg @donjulio314 for helping me set everything up. She really had no clue what was coming. @zofrost you went crazy on this one bro. You really made the night special.

Biles — who has six Olympic medals, including four gold from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics — has been dating her beau for a little under two years.
They first connected via social media in March 2020, right before the pandemic shut down the US.
‘He would say I slid into his DMs,’ Biles told the Wall Street Journal, stressing;
‘I saw him and I was like, “Oh, he’s pretty cute,” so I said hi … and then I saw that he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to hang out a week or two later.
Owens, surprisingly, admitted that he didn’t actually know about the gold medalist was when she contact him.
‘I didn’t know who she was,’ he told Texas Monthly. ‘I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked.’
He said they ended up ‘hanging out right before the pandemic.‘
They made things Instagram official on August 2 of that year, when Biles shared a photo of them smiling together and another of Owens kissing her cheek.
