Nigeria Vs Ghana: FG Orders Civil Servants To Close By 1pm Today
Federal Government has directed civil servants to close work early on Tuesday in a move that is aimed at “mobilizing support” for the Super Eagles in their World Cup qualifying playoff second leg match against Ghana.
Super Eagles will play against the Black Stars of Ghana in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 playoff final battle at Moshood Abiola National Stadium after ending the first leg 0-0 in Kumasi on Friday.

In a circular sent to all Permanent Secretaries and signed by the Head of Service, civil servants are to vacate all offices by 1:00 p.m.
The directive was contained in a memo signed by Dr. Ngozi Onwudiwe, the Permanent Secretary (Service Welfare Office) for Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The memo reads in part;
As you are aware, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be meeting the Black Stars of Ghana in continuation of the 2022 FIFA World-Cup Qualifier. Playoff, (Return Leg). There is a need to mobilise support for the Nigerian Team. Consequently, I am directed to inform you that all offices will be closed at 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 29th March, 2022. Permanent Secretaries are requested to give this circular wide publicity to achieve the desired result.
Super Eagles aim to qualify for a fourth World Cup in a row and are working to pick one of Africa’s five tickets to the game ahead of Ghana in one of Africa’s most storied fixtures.
