Shizzi Calls Out Manager Over ‘Archaic Deal’ With Sony Music
L-R: Shizzi and Efe.

Nigerian record producer, Oluwaseyi Akerele better known as Shizzi, has called out his manager, Efe Ogbeni, for allegedly making him sign an “archaic” deal with Sony Music publishing.

In an Instagram post, the record producer alleged that Ogbeni made him sign Minimum Delivery and Release Commitment (MDRC) deal with Sony Music “unknowingly” about six years ago.

MDRC means the amount of material or songs that a songwriter is required to deliver (for commercial release) during the term of their agreement.

In the post on Wednesday, Shizzi claimed the music executive also denied him the opportunity to access a lawyer who would have explained the terms of the contract.

The songwriter alleged that Ogbeni instead “forced” him to work with his friend on the deal.

He also claimed years after the deal, the music executive’s friend has refused to release him.

Shizzi further accused Ogbeni of trying to take everything away from him and his family despite adding no value to his career.

He wrote;

Efe is the epitome of a heartless human being! I’ve been stuck in the worst Sony Music Publishing deal for 6 years because of him! You will never stop what God has ordained for me! You have done absolutely nothing for my career but try and take everything away from me and my family!.

Shizzi stressed;

I unknowingly got signed to an archaic MDRC deal because of this man. He never gave us the right to choose an attorney to thoroughly inspect the contract in 2016 because his friend/partner in crime was the attorney that we were forced to work with on the deal and now he doesn’t want to let me free!

As of late last year, SonyATV said they were going to let me go only if he agrees with terms of termination #FreeShizzi enough is enough! I will drag your name to the mud with the truth! You can’t get away with this!

Ogbeni is yet to react to Shizzi’s allegations as of the time of this report.

The development comes about four months after Shizzi also had a clash with Teni over the production of ‘Case’, her hit single.
