Nigerian Afrobeat musicians, Tems, Wizkid and Fireboy on Thursday, June 2 received nominations for Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards 2022.
Standout superstar was the 26-year-old Afrobeats songstress, Tems who earned three nominations, becoming the first-ever African to attain such a feat.
Also, Wizkid and Fireboy received two and one nominations respectively.
Tems was nominated for Best New Artist, Best International Act, and Best Collaboration for Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ remix featuring Justin Bieber.
Wizkid was nominated for Best Collaboration and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, while Fireboy DML was nominated for Best International Act.
