Following the priest’s repeated disobedience to canonical laws, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu banned its members from attending “all religious and liturgical activities” at Adoration Ministry presided by Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.
Callistus Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu, stated that Mbaka had repeatedly broken the church’s regulations and that the church would no longer tolerate his actions.
Mbaka became a laughingstock lately when he incited Nigerians against the Labour Party’s nominee, Mr. Peter Obi, a move that the church condemned.
He urged his supporters to vote against Obi in the upcoming election because he is “stingy and evil,” according to him.

Onaga forbade Catholics and their priests from visiting the Adoration Ministry after being disappointed by the unfavorable reactions to the priest’s activities.
Mbaka’s sermons were no longer in line with the church’s principles, according to the church.
Onaga expressed his displeasure with events at the Catholic Adoration Ministry Chaplaincy in Enugu that could jeopardize the Catholic faith and values.
He said;
After several fraternal corrections and admonitions to Fr. Camillus Ejike Mbaka, the Chaplain of the Ministry” as well as “having given him pastoral directives and guidelines for the Ministry Chaplaincy, which he persistently violated, in fulfillment of my pastoral duties as the Chief Shepherd with the obligation to promote and safeguard the Catholic faith and morals in Enugu Diocese, I hereby prohibit all Catholics (clergy, religious and lay faithful) henceforth from attending all religious and liturgical activities of the Adoration Ministry until the due canonical process initiated by the Diocese is concluded.
My decision is based on the fact that some of the teachings and utterances of Fr Camillus Ejike Mbaka at the Catholic Adoration Ministry are not consistent with the teachings and faith of the Catholic Church.
I enjoin all the Christian Faithful to keep praying for Fr. Mbaka and the Catholic Diocese of Enugu as I entrust him and the Diocese to the maternal care and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of the Apostles.
Meanwhile, Fr. Mbaka, an Enugu Catholic priest, on Saturday, shut down activities in the Adoration Ministry.
Mbaka published a statement to his supporters, alerting them that the Ministry’s programs will no longer be held.
The statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Ministry reads:
