Osinbajo To Duel With Tinubu, Reveals Readiness For Presidency
Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has expressed readiness for 2023 presidency; confirming that he will contest in the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He made the declaration at the ongoing special convention and presidential primaries of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Osinbajo was the last of the 22 aspirants to give his speech at the special convention holding at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
Following the withdrawal of at least 7 presidential aspirants for APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the VP addressed party delegates and other APC members.
He was welcomed with a rousing applause from hundreds of supporters who gathered at the party’s special convention currently holding.

Giving an insight into his background, Osinbajo expressed:
I am deeply honoured to share this platform with 22 other exceptional members of the APC. I have schooled and worked in Nigeria all my life, I have seen the prospects of the country; and it is possible to have a world class education, tech economy, mining sector in the country. We can also add to the revenue accrued from the oil sector.
We have the talent, resources to be one of the world’s largest economy, we can give all women equal education and equal opportunity. Fortunately, we are not starting from zero because since 2015, young Nigerians have established six tech companies worth over a $1m. All that is left is for us to make the right decision and we stand on the threshold of history. 2322 delegates will determine the future of our children and compels all of us to vote right. You cannot wish this country well and vote for someone you do not believe in so when you vote tonight. Dear delegates, your vote carries the answer to your prayers for the country.
He further stated:
I have travelled and seen the nuances that plagues the nation and our circumstances won’t allow the next leader to learn on the job. I have been prepared for the task that lies ahead as the VP for the past seven years. It is for these reasons present myself to you. Wish your country well by voting right.
As at the time of filing this report, seven aspirants stepped down for Tinubu, one for Osinbajo while others expressed their resolved to stay in the presidential race.
Some of the aspirants who withdrew for Tinubu are Ibikunle Amosun, Godswill Akpabio, Kayode Fayemi, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, the Governor of Jigawa State, and Robert Ajayi Boroffice, among others.

While Nicholas Felix, a US-based cleric, withdrew from the race for Vice President Osinbajo.
