Wizkid Explains Why He Prefers To Be ‘Underestimated’
Afrobeat superstar, Wizkid whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun has revealed that the pressure that comes with being underestimated makes him a better artiste.
Wizkid is one of the most sensational musicians in modern African history. He mentioned this at an interview session with Tony Elumelu Foundation on the ‘TELiveSeries’ on ‘Life as an African Entrepreneur’; and also explained how the external pressure to constantly have to prove oneself impacts on him.
Explaining, Big Wiz wittily said ‘underestimation’ more than anything else fuels his drive to outshine himself every time people doubt his capabilities.
He noted he enjoys it whenever people underestimate him as that acts as a catalyst which propels him to outdo himself thereby, silencing his critics in the process.
