On Tuesday in Katsina, bandits opened fire on a truck carrying his advance squad.

When bandits ambushed them, the crew was travelling toward Daura, the president’s hometown.

Additionally, gunmen ransacked the nation’s capital’s Kuje Prison and released detainees, including prominent Boko Haram suspects.

According to Bashir Magashi, the minister of defence, all Boko Haram suspects who were being held at the time of the attack escaped.

Buhari will be accompanied on the trip by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama; Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; as well as Industry, Trade, and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, according to a statement released on Wednesday by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Patience Oniha, Director-General of the Debt Management Office, and Olukayode Pitan, Managing Director of the Bank of Industry.

Shehu revealed that President Buhari would participate in an open discussion on development objectives and challenges as well as transformational initiatives at the high-level event, the Dakar Declaration, being hosted by President Macky Sall of the Republic of Senegal on Thursday, July 7.

According to the presidential spokesman, this pledge is anticipated to pave the path for the restructuring of these countries’ economy in collaboration with the World Bank/IDA.

He stated that the following topics would be covered: “Financing for Recovery and Economic Transformation in Africa; Agriculture, Livestock and Food Security; Human Capital; Digital and Technological Innovation; and Energy Transition and Climate Change.”
