Love, Damini: Nigerians Applaud Burna Boy’s 6th Studio Album
Grammy award winner, Burna Boy debuted his sixth studio album, Love, Damini on Friday, July 8.
Following the album release during the early hours of today, fans of the self-acclaimed African Giant have taken to Twitter to applaud the dexterity of Burna Boy‘s musical prowess.
Love, Damini is a follow-up project to the Grammy award winning music album, Twice As Tall which bagged the award for the ‘Best Global Music Album’ at the 2021 Grammy award ceremony.
The album has twice massive singles, ‘Kilometer‘ which was released on April 29, 2021; the most recent single is ‘Last Last‘ which has become a mainstay on numerous music charts. The single which was released in May 2022, became an anthem and a standout song from the project primarily because of the ‘breakfast’ (allusion to heartbreak) and catchy chorus.
Speaking about the single in a recent podcast with The Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Burna Boy revealed that Toni Braxton will be receiving 60% of the royalties of the smash hit.

Describing the album making process in a recent interview with Apple Music, the 31-year-old musician had this to say;
When I’m making a project, I know what the project is.
It has to start with, with the name of the project.
And then we build… It’s like a movie.
If the movie is called Matrix or whatever, you get me?
Then in the movie, there should be some matrix things going on and some zeros and ones and some…
You can’t have a movie called Matrix and then there’s flowers and what’s the guy?
Seth Rogen smoking weed and stuff like that.

Burna Boy’s most effective super power is how comfortable he is in his range.
You can wake him up, drag him groggy-eyed to any studio, offering any extreme sound culture.
He won’t just deliver for you, he’ll do it like a natural, with comfort, artistic dexterity and potency.

Don’t release a 19-track album in 2022 because Burna Boy did.
Yours will be a long boring album.
Only Burna Boy does Burna Boy things.#LOVEDAMINI
