Oyo State House of Assembly has approved the nomination of Barrister Bayo Lawal as the new Deputy Governor of the state.
Moji Delano Blog reports that the approval is coming a few hours after the Assembly removed the erstwhile Deputy Rauf Olaniyan.
The House on Monday, July 18, removed Olaniyan, a native of Igboho from office, following the recommendation of the panel of inquiry set up to investigate him.

However, the assembly has approved the nomination of Lawal.
The name of the new Deputy Governor was sent to the House by Governor Seyi Makinde.
The lawmakers approved the nomination of Lawal during their plenary in Ibadan.
The majority leader, Sanjo Adedoyin said that the nomination was in order.
Kazeem Olayanju, who also spoke, supported the nomination.
According to the report of the committee presented during Monday’s plenary by the Majority leader of the house, Hon Sanjo Adedoyin, the seven-man panel found the Deputy Governor guilty of all the allegations leveled against him.
All the 23 PDP lawmakers at the plenary voted in support of the recommendations of the panel.
The investigative panel was set up last week to investigate at least five allegations contained in a petition against Olaniyan.
Olaniyan had been elected into office in 2019 with Governor Seyi Makinde under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party but had a falling out with the governor over time.
This year, the differences between both men and their working relationship deteriorated and became virtually irreconcilable when the Deputy Governor dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Congress.
