For the Sokoto Governorship election, no fewer than 18 political parties are set to ccontest in the election exercise.
This is according to information displayed by the Independent National Electoral Commission in its office in Sokoto, on Monday, July 25.

Two political parties are fielding two female deputy governorship candidates for the first time.
They include Hannatu Muhtar who is the deputy governorship candidate on the platform of the Action Peoples Party and Hauwa’u Bello who is the running mate on the platform of Allied Peoples Movement.
Meanwhile, the candidates of All Progressive Congress and Peoples Democratic Party, are Saidu Umar and Ahmed Aliyu respectively.
Others include Isiyaku Bello of the ADC, Abubakar Haruna of APM, Habibu Muhammed of Zenith Party, Ibrahim Muhammed Mansur Gada of APGA and Goronyo Ibrahim of Boot Party.

It also includes Dahiru Umar Tambuwal of NNPP, Muhammad Saidu Gumburawa of PRP, Daniya Usama Sani of YPP, Imam Abdulrahim Chindo of Labour Party while National Rescue Movement present Aliyu Sulaiman DanDauda.
Action Alliance presents Ahmad Ahmad Jao, ADP has Nasiru Sarki Larabawa, SDP has Umar Abdul-Razak, African Action Congress with Ahmad Babajo Ibrahim and Abba Sidi Ahmed for Action Peoples Party.
