Pan-African e-commerce platform Jumia has urged the general public to ignore rumours that it is presently hiring.
This was said by Jumia in a correspondence sent to users on Tuesday, August 30.
The e-commerce behemoth claimed that a WhatsApp message alerting people to the company’s need for part-time employees had been going around.

Jumia, on the other hand, deemed the recruitment warning to be “false and misleading.”
The mail reads;
Our attention has been drawn to a message being circulated specifically via WhatsApp, of a ‘hiring manager at Jumia’, inviting people to apply for part-time employment at Jumia.
We wish to state that this information is entirely false and misleading and should, therefore, be ignored by the public.
We denounce our association from this message and any further messages which may be dispersed to the public of a similar nature.
Jumia also emphasised its commitment to transparency in the way it conducts all of its operations, including hiring.
The general public was also asked to monitor all of their verified social media profiles and other web channels for communication and updates.
