Adams Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, claims that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, cannot claim responsibility or credit for the decisions made by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was said by Oshiomhole during a Wednesday interview, August 3, on Arise TV.

Government critics had made an effort to link Tinubu to some of Buhari’s administration’s shortcomings, particularly in the economy and security sectors.

The former governor of Edo State, however, asserted that Tinubu never held any office in Buhari’s administration and had abstained from accepting any government contracts for the previous seven years.

Oshiomhole said Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo who heads the National Executive Council has a bigger role in Buhari’s administration than Tinubu.

He said;

You can’t say someone who never in any way participated in government should be credited with the outcome of government policies or be blamed either way.

Oshiomhole added;

I think in apportioning blame or crediting people, you look at their role. It is a fact that Asiwaju by himself said, yes, he co-founded the APC. I was a co-founding governor of the APC along with Fashola and other governors but he never participated in governance, he never held any position in government, he didn’t carry out a contract on behalf of the government so how can you credit him either way? This is just being fair.

Oshiomhole is among those expected to lead Tinubu’s campaign organisation.
