Shettima: Nigerians Ridicule Tinubu’s Presidential Running Mate Over Bland Fashion Style To NBA Colloquium In Lagos

Kashim Shettima, the former governor of Borno state and running mate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC)  is being ridiculed on social media by netizens following his choice of style to the Nigerian Bar Conference’s 62nd annual general conference that took place in Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos state on Monday, August 22.

Social media users are calling out Shettima for his pair of shoes and oversized suits to the conference.

While Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the flagbearer and presidential candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC) was absent, the former Borno state governor and his running mate, Shettima was available to represent.

Other notable dignitaries at the event include the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party‘s Peter Obi who was well-received by the attendees.

Shettima, who was dressed in a suit and tie, accompanied by a pair of gym shoes; which stirred reactions from social media users.

The images were brought into the social media spotlight by Reno Omokri, a former media aide to the ex-president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Monday afternoon.

Sharing a picture of Shettima at the event on his Twitter page, Omokri wrote;

This is Tinubu’s running mate at the NBA Conference today. Look at his feet. Who in his right mind wears a suit and tie and then puts on a pair of gym shoes to a conference?

If Shettima does not know how to dress himself, how can he address Nigeria’s challenges?
