A case brought by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Marlin Sylva, against the publisher of Point Blank News, Mr. Jackson Ude, was successful in an Eastern Pennsylvania United States District Court.
According to information obtained, Ude claimed in a newspaper that the minister had engaged in money embezzlement.
Ude had accused Sylva of paying a $10,000 bribe to each member of the National Assembly in an effort to persuade them to pass the Petroleum Industry Bill, among other allegations made in publications allegedly meant to harm the Minister’s reputation.
