Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has levelled serious accusations against certain PDP officials and participants (PDP).
He charged PDP governors and other leaders on Friday, August 12, with plotting against the party in 2019.
Wike accused the PDP leaders of damaging the party’s chances in the 2019 election while speaking during the opening of the legislative quarters for members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
In 2019, only Rivers State out of all the south-south states failed to provide the 25% of votes required to win President Muhammadu Buhari’s election, he said.

He claimed that those responsible for the sabotage are allegedly scheming to assassinate him in 2023 while still pretending to love the PDP.
According to the Governor, President Buhari would not have been reelected in 2019 if it weren’t for their sabotage.
Wike pressed them to refute the accusation he levelled at them.
He nevertheless issued a warning, urging everyone to collaborate and develop a plan for how the PDP may triumph in the elections of 2023 rather than spending time plotting against him.
He said;
When I see people talking about PDP today, I say to myself what is going on in this world. In the South-South, they all betrayed us. President Muhammadu Buhari wouldn’t have won the 2019 election because he wouldn’t have had the spread.
But all the States in the South-South made Buhari to have 25 percent. It was only Rivers State that did not give Buhari 25 percent, I am challenging anybody on it.
Today, I see people talk about PDP. When we were supposed to have won election in PDP under Alhaji Atiku. Rivers State gave the highest votes, Rivers gave the highest support in terms of logistics too. Let anybody come and contradict me.
Speaking further, Wike said for the 2023 election, every PDP Governor should at least be able to deliver his state for the party.
He vowed that just as always, he would deliver Rivers State because the people are pleased with him and connected to him.
