Chinese Company Names Robot As CEO
A Chinese mobile game developer NetDragon Websoft has announced the appointment of AI as the new CEO of one of its subsidiaries.
Named ‘Ms. Tang Yu,’ the new AI will be tasked with heading up the ‘organizational and efficiency department,’ where it will streamline workflows, push envelopes, think outside the box, and crack down on buzzwords.
The (human) chairman of NetDragron, Dr. Dejian Liu, thinks that AI is ‘the future of corporate management,’ although presumably not the future of his particular post.
‘Our appointment of Ms. Tang Yu represents our commitment to truly embrace the use of AI to transform the way we operate our business, and ultimately drive our future strategic growth,’ he said.

Tang Yu is only the second robot to be named the head of a major company, following in the footsteps of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.
