The Lagos State Police on Thursday, dispersed the #endSARS commemoration walk that was organized at the Lekki Toll Gate on Thursday.
To pay tribute to the victims of police violence, a sizable youth procession had passed through the tolls in a calm manner.
Gunshots and tear gas canisters were fired into the air, but the police dispersed the march.

After circling the plaza, the #endSARS demonstrators made their way to the toll gate in Lekki and decided to put the coffins down so they could speak to one another.
While the security personnel reported satisfaction with how the procession was handled, they were not pleased with the traffic obstruction that led to the canisters of tear gas being dispersed.
Earlier during the procession, Adebowale Adedayo also known as Mr Macaroni, a popular artiste, expressed disappointment at the refusal of the Lagos State Government to implement the recommendations of the panel towards justice.
Mr Macaroni said;
We cannot forget and the fallen heroes must know that people are here demanding justice.
The Lagos Gov set a panel who made some recommendations but this are yet to be met. We wonder whether they are on the side of the truth or not?
This place was also said to be named the Lekki Memorial Plaza; we are not fighting the Government but we deserve better.
We should ask the Govt how long are we continue to table our demands. Are you going to fulfill the promises and this is a call to the state government and Federal Government to do well by the Nigerian youths.
The Nigerian youths have been consistent and not violent; it was the Govt who were violent but they won’t touch anyone because it is election season and they are deceitful. We are Nigerians first before becoming a police officer or a governor.
