At the Jos township stadium on Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari joined party members in endorsing Bola Tinubu, the APC’s nominee for president in 2023, and Kashim Shettima, Tinubu’s running mate.
The President promised that in 2023, no election winner will be denied a mandate.
President Buhari reaffirmed his commitment to making sure that every vote counts during a visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos, and he urged party members to march to support the APC candidates now that the party has made its choice.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari said;
No election winner will be denied his mandate, irrespective of the party to which they belonged.
This was apparently in response to the Campaign Director-General, Governor Simon Lalong, who announced the intention to recreate the 1993 Moshood Abiola’s historic victory in 2023, in a campaign that took off in the same city 3o years ago. That election victory was annulled by the military.
At the event, when presenting the candidate with the APC flag, Buhari remarked that the nation needed a leader with Tinubu’s qualities and urged party members to focus their campaigning on the issues and the qualifications of the candidate and his running mate, Shettima.
The President reaffirmed his earlier promises that, because of his faith in the party, he would lead the campaign.
He said that only the APC could guide Nigeria to realize its historic destiny, adding that the objective would be accomplished by working with the party’s leadership, the campaign council, and its throngs of followers.
