Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a presidential contender for the New Nigeria People’s Party, has claimed that the number of military officers in place at the moment is woefully insufficient.
Kwankwaso made this declaration on Sunday at the Arise TV Presidential Townhall Series on Security and Economy, which was held in Abuja and was organised by Arise TV and the Center for Democracy and Development.
The presidential contender claimed he has put in place sufficient measures to expand the number of military officers from 250 000 to 1 million, including the army, air force, and navy.

He promised to expand the number of police officers from 230 000 to 2 million and declared he would retake every square metre of the nation.
We will be willing to sit down with everyone with grudges in any part of the country to dialogue and at the end of the day, anyone who decides to do otherwise definitely the law will take its course.
Speaking further on security, Kwankwaso said that if the government was doing the right thing, many people will put down their arms, adding that for those who do not want to do that, it is the responsibility of the government to ensure peace as people go about their legitimate business not minding religion, ethnicity.
