Wizkid Staff Reportedly Held Hostage In Abidjan
Netizens have taken to the social media platform, Twitter to allege that staff and representatives of Nigerian recording artiste, Wizkid have been held hostage in Abidjan, Ivory Coast following the singer’s failure to appear for a scheduled concert in the state.
The latest development is coming barely 24 hours after he failed to appear at a concert in Ghana. Wizkid has since taken to his various social media platforms to apologize for his no-show.
An eyewitness, Chisom Nwoye took to her Twitter account on Sunday night to recount the disappointing situation. According to the netizen, the renowned Afrobeat whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun was scheduled to perform in Abidjan.
However, after waiting for almost 6 hours, Wizkid failed to show up. Infuriated fans decided to hold the show organizers, staff and other representatives of Wizkid hostage for failing to perform his jurisdiction.

The distraught fans stated that they will not be leaving the auditorium until the receive maximum refund due to the Afrobeat icon’s refusal to perform.

She continued;
“Wizkid is 5 hours late for his concert and the place empty”

The narrator went further to state that Wizkid’s representative went on stage to issue an apology to the distraught fans, however, they refused to acknowledge his presence.
She continued
“Guess what wizkid staffs that arrived earlier are being held hostage here in Abidjan up until he pay for the mess he cause in Abidjan. it’s the disrespect for the fan. After he will write an apology”

As at the time of filing this report, the Afrobeat icon has not addressed the situation.
This would be the second time in many days that Machala, as he is fondly called has appeared for a concert in a country across Africa. It would be recalled that he did not appear at a scheduled concert in Ghana on Sunday.
